Chain, Chain, Chain 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays for eight weeks Begins April 2 Kirkland Art Center, Clinton If you have always wanted to learn to make chains, this is the class for you. In the class students will learn about wire tempers and gauges and how to make their own jump rings for chain making. We will construct four bracelet-length chains: double flower, flat chain mail, foxtail and Byzantine. All chains will be constructed of 18 gauge silver. No metal work or jewelry making background is required. All materials are included in the price of tuition.
Intermediate Metalworking for JeweLry 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays for eight weeks Begins April 4 Kirkland Art Center, Clinton In this class students with previous metalworking experience will build on those skills to learn more advanced techniques for jewelry. Students will learn various kinds of rivets and other types of cold connections, etching, Keum boo (fusing gold to silver), hollow jewelry, reticulation and working with acrylic/Plexiglass. Students may purchase metals from the instructor at an additional cost.
